Social History Collection Conservation
Thanks to the generosity of The Pilgrim Trust, we were able to collaborate with the People’s History Museum to fully conserve five banners and one flag. These objects form part of Paisley Museum’s Social History collection and tell the story of Paisley’s working-class and women’s histories.
All six objects required significant conservation to repair historic damage ahead of their display. Without the Pilgrim Trust’s support there was a risk that all 6 objects would have been displayed without any conservation impacting on the visitor experience. As you can see from the image below, the banners and flag will be vibrant additions to the refurbished galleries.
